UK-BASED BERKELEY ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS OPENS OFFICE IN MUSCAT

External Audit Phase-I was completed for Stand-alone ISO Certification capturing 9001:2015, 14001:2015 & 45001:2018 standards for Berkeley Engineering Consultants Company, Saudi Arabia office. The CEO of the Company itself Mr. Irteza Piracha, witnessed the activity and delivered his appreciation to the team.

Berkeley Engineering Consultants (BEC) opened its office in Ghala on Monday. The event was attended by H E Hamish Cowell, UK’s Ambassador to the sultanate and other Omani high-level dignitaries.

Berkeley Engineering Consultants is a UK-based company specialising in oil and gas and infrastructure sectors.

It has been in the Middle East for ten years primarily in Saudi Arabia with its main clients being Saudi Aramco. Now, it is looking to capture the Omani market.

H E Cowell commended the efforts of the company. “I am also very clear that companies investing in Oman isn’t just about bricks and mortar or physical infrastructure. It’s about creating employment opportunities for Omanis, investing in training and knowledge transfer, and ensuring that supply chains comprise goods and services procured from local businesses.”

He added, “All of these are things, which matter deeply to BEC and its approach to recruiting the local workforce, and its commitment to in-country value (for which it already has a clear plan) are both extremely commendable, and could easily be used elsewhere as model examples.”
