ARAVINDA DE SILVA – BATTING FOR BERKELEY

As cricket fans we were thrilled and very honoured to welcome an extra-special guest to our Berkeley Square offices recently – Sri Lanka legend Aravinda de Silva.

Berkeley’s Irteza Paracha and Andrew Brewer met Aravinda when they were invited to a Q&A session at the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council. The former international cricketer was a member of a panel which also included Clive Loyd, David Gower and Saqlain Mushtaq.

Aravinda is widely considered to be one of the greatest batsmen ever produced by Sri Lanka,. He made 93 Test match appearances and also helped his country win the 1996 World Cup.

Following initial conversations Aravinda visited Berkeley to discuss opportunities for the company in Sri Lanka, supporting the refining sector, and providing general engineering services.
